Why People Find Pensara Desk Useful

Each point below reflects what visitors have asked for — not what we think they should want.

Documents explained in plain language

EPF statements, KWSP correspondence, and Socso letters can be dense. We read them aloud and explain what each part is for without adding any assessment of what you should do.

A filing system you can actually maintain

Drawer labels, a printed index, and a trained family member mean the system continues without us after we leave your home.

Skills that spread through your community

The community programme places trained volunteers inside your organisation so the knowledge stays local long after the engagement ends.

No opinions on what you should do

We are not a financial or legal service. Where a question needs a qualified person, we write it down and point you to the right public body or registered professional.

Unhurried, at a sensible pace

Sessions are never rushed. If you need a break, we take one. The desk is a calm working space, not a sales environment.

Your documents, your control

Scanned originals go into an encrypted archive that belongs to you. We do not retain copies after the engagement is complete.

Common Questions

If your question is not here, please write to us — we read every enquiry carefully.

What kinds of documents can you read with me?
Any retirement-related correspondence: EPF or KWSP account statements, Socso notifications, Civil Service Pension letters, private pension scheme correspondence, government agency response letters, and similar documents. We do not cover tax filings, insurance products, or investment account paperwork.
Do I need to book in advance for the drop-in session?
Yes. Attendance is by simple booking so that each person gets enough time at the desk. You can book via the contact form on this page or by phone. Sessions run every Thursday from 10 am to 11.30 am. We confirm your place by email within one working day.
Will you tell me what I should do with my pension?
No. Pensara Desk provides general organisational assistance and plain-language explanation only. We do not advise on withdrawals, investment choices, timing, or any other financial decision. Where a question calls for qualified financial or legal input, we write it down and provide the contact details of the appropriate public body or professional register.
How does the Household Records Setup work if I cannot travel to George Town?
The two-visit package is designed to come to you. Our assistant travels to your home within greater Penang island for no extra charge. For locations outside Penang island, please contact us so we can confirm availability and any applicable travel costs before you book.
What does the Community Organisation Records Programme include?
The programme includes a facilitator's manual, a slide set and printed handbook licensed for internal use, two train-the-facilitator days for up to eight volunteers, a review of the group's existing record-keeping practices, and four quarterly support calls across twelve months. Facilitators are trained on where a question becomes too specific to handle as general education and must be referred onward.
How are my personal documents handled?
Originals are never taken off-site without your written permission. For the Household Records Setup, scanned copies go into an encrypted digital archive on a storage service you choose and control. Pensara Desk does not retain copies after the engagement. Session notes taken at drop-ins are held for 30 days and then deleted.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (Ringgit Malaysia), DuitNow QR transfer, and online bank transfer. An invoice is provided for every service. For the Community Organisation programme, staged payment across the engagement period can be arranged — please ask when you enquire.
